The growth of renewables in Latin America will support LNG demand, delegates at the CWC World LNG and Gas Americas Summit heard on Thursday. However, speakers warned the region’s LNG players that innovation would be crucial to growth.
Eduardo Maranhão, chief executive of Centrais Elétricas de Sergipe, which is building an LNG terminal and gas-to-power plant in Brazil’s northeastern state of Sergipe, said the growth of renewables in Brazil improved the prospects for LNG regasification projects.
