Joe Gebara is the General Manager of the Offshore Business Line for Bechtel Oil, Gas and Chemicals, Inc. and is responsible for all offshore projects. Joe joined Bechtel in 2012 with more than 18 years of experience in the offshore industry. Prior to joining Bechtel, he worked in numerous positions at Technip and Amoco. His most recent position with Technip USA was vice president of floater operations and director of floater projects, managing the division responsible for most of the company’s large-scale spar hull and mooring delivery.
Joe serves on a number of committees, including The Ocean Energy Safety Advisory Committee, a national advisory committee to the US Secretary of Interior formed following the Deepwater Horizon incident; The University of Texas, Petroleum Engineering Department, Industry Advisory Committee; and the American Bureau of Shipping Offshore Technical Committee.
Joe is a graduate from Purdue University with a Ph.D. in Structural Engineering and Applied Mechanics. Joe holds a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering Computational Mechanics from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the American University of Beirut.
