Mr. Castro is the Managing Director of SPEC LNG, the LNG import terminal in Colombia.

Prior to joining SPEC in 2017, he worked as Head of Business Development for Promigas, Latin American regional holding with businesses in midstream and downstream of energy, primarily natural gas and LNG. During his tenure at Promigas, he was responsible for all business development activities throughout the region. In addition to that, since the beginning he participated in the development of SPEC, and led the origination of a natural gas distribution concession for the company in the northern Peru.

Jose has over 22 years of experience in the areas of investment banking, capital markets, project evaluation, and business development in the United States as well as in Latin America.

He holds a degree in Industrial Management with minor in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University, as well as a Master in Business Administration with minor in Finance and International Business from University of Miami. He has complementary studies in areas of finance, project management, and operation management.

Jose serves as a board of director member of important companies in the energy, gas sector and other social organizations.
