Yao is the founder and CEO of SIA Energy with more than 20 years of energy industry experience. SIA Energy is a China-focused energy consulting firm offering insight and data on Chinese energy policy, politics, players, and markets, covering the full oil, gas, and power value chain. SIA Energy serves foreign entities looking to invest and growth in China, and Chinese entities looking for entry and expansion abroad. Prior to founding SIA, Yao served as Senior Director and Head of PFC Energy’s China office for over 7 years, lived and worked in the Middle East for 6 years, and served the Chinese central government for 2 years. Yao holds a Master of Science degree from the Edmond A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University in Washington DC, and a Bachelor of Laws degree in International Politics from the Renmin University of China.
